The ongoing crisis in Syria has disrupted economic systems, strained community relations, and limited access to traditional forms of financial and social support. In this context, crowdfunding has emerged globally as an alternative mechanism for financing development and entrepreneurial initiatives. This report aims to explore the feasibility and effectiveness of implementing a Syrian-led crowdfunding platform that can enhance local economic resilience and social cohesion.
The assessment was designed to capture diverse perspectives from within Syria and the diaspora. By engaging directly with local entrepreneurs, community members, and organizations, as well as Syrians living abroad, the study seeks to understand the challenges, opportunities, and motivations associated with crowdfunding in the Syrian context.
