Flooding Incident Report

In Northwest Syria, rainstorms hit IDPs camps in Idleb and Aleppo governorates for two days (18-19 March 2023), causing flood incidents in 57 IDPs sites. No deaths and injuries were reported, 587 tents and rooms were destroyed, and 1,646 tents and rooms have also been damaged. The number of IDPs residing in the affected sites is 83,440; most of them lost their shelter during the earthquake. The rainwater leaking into the tents of IDPs led to damage to all shelter materials, The IDPs left their tents and took refuge in the nearby towns, and some of the IDPs took refuge in nearby schools, and many roads were cut off due to the formation of torrential rains. There is an urgent need for tents, NFI distribution, plastic sheets, and food parcels.
