The Assistance Coordination Unit (ACU) participates in the Microsoft NGO Cloud Day event.
The ACU, represented by the Information Technology Manager, was invited by Microsoft to participate in the conference held on the 9th of May 2018 – Istanbul as a speaker to present opportunities, possibilities, and Azure cloud grants provided by Microsoft for Nonprofit organizations.
The conference discussed several topics:
Digital transformation, Microsoft’s opportunities for non-profit organizations, cloud computing technologies, and Microsoft’s grants for civil society organizations. Also, topics such as innovation and artificial intelligence in cloud technologies, voluntary contributions to strengthening collaboration with donors and stakeholders, analytical opportunities, and cloud reporting were discussed.
Microsoft donated 1.2 $ billion in 2017 to nonprofits globally in the form of cloud services. The Assistance Coordination Unit (ACU) received a grant of $133,965 as a part of a strategic partnership with Microsoft to empower humanitarian response across Syria to better serve those in crisis – by providing timely, mission-critical data and using the power of Azure, Power BI, and Office 365 Enterprise.
