Nutrition Surveillance System
Nutritional surveillance program was established in the mid of 2017 to investigate and monitor the nutritional state among children below 5 years old regularly, and as a part of EWARN. It’s considered a continuous system for creating information that reflect the size, distribution, and reasons of malnutrition among population at present and in the future, with the purpose of formulating policies and planning programs, management, and evaluation.
NUTRITION SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM
Objectives
1
Evaluating severe and medium malnutrition cases and bilateral edema cases among children below five years old.

Reduce mortality due to acute malnutrition in children under 5 years.
3
Follow-up the cases detected and transmitted after two weeks of referral, to assess the adequacy and quality of case management services.
